Communication Lesson

SCRIPTURE: John 12:49
"For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it."

OBSERVATION: Jesus not only spoke the words of God, he was instructed by God on how to say it.

APPLICATION: Communication is so much more than just the words we say. The look on our faces as we say them, tone of voice, body language all go in to how our words are perceived by others. I need to follow Jesus' example and pray for wisdom regarding not only the words I speak, but how I speak them.

PRAYER: Father, teach me wisdom in how I communicate to others. Offense happens so easily in human communication and I want to avoid as much of it as possible. The truth is often offensive enough on its own without my adding to it by not being careful in how I communicate it. May all my words be seasoned with wisdom from Your Spirit. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
