Title: Wise Advice/Topic: Focus
Today’s Reading: Joshua 1; Joshua 2; Psalm 37; 1 Corinthians 3
Scripture: Psalm 37:1-6
1 Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; 2 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. 3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Observation/ Application: The point of these verse is pretty straight-forward. Don't waste your time worrying about evil men who seem to be successful. Leave it to God. Spend your time becoming more intimate with God. Blessings, protection, provision and a fulfilled life are promised to anyone who does. That is how I want to spend my time; in positive pursuits that will bless me and others.
Prayer: Oh Lord, keep me focused on the right goals at all times and keep me from unproductive pursuits that are a waste of time.
This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
